Claire's 2009 – 55% Mourvedre/45% Grenache. 23 months in neutral 500 liter puncheons, sur lie. Expressive aromas of spiced strawberry, cherry liqueur and pepper. Mouth-filling, with some textural sweetness that is tempered by acid/tannin synergy in the finish. Powerful, but fresh and classy.
